Viakon Technologies LLC has been supplying high-tech products for road and bridge construction projects for 14 years, the use of which is confirmed by established practice in transport facilities not only in the Republic of Belarus.
The production process of prefabricated metal corrugated structure (SMGK) of the «SuperCor» type consists of the mechanical molding of flat steel sheets into the form of corrugated curved plates, which are later subjected to galvanization (hot-dip galvanized). The steel used for the production of «SuperCor» structures corresponds to STB EN 10149-2 (or STB EN 10025-2), these are such brands as: S315MC, S355MC and S420MC. The choice of the thickness of the construction plates depends on the shape of the cross-section of the structure, the span, the height of the filling above the structure and the type of mobile load. It is possible to produce non standard shapes sections etc
The quality criterion of SMGK is a guarantee period of at least 10 years and a service life of 75-100 years (for pipes-50 years) in accordance with the requirements of TRC 45-3. 03-232-2011 » Bridges and pipes. Building design standards».
The key to ensuring the designated service life is:
- Use by the manufacturer of high-quality alloyed and stainless steels s315mc, S355MC, S420MC according to STB EN 10149-2 * that meet the operating conditions in an aggressive environment (the most resistant to through-corrosion without additional protective coating). These steels were developed specifically for use on automatic lines, very well respond to the required bending – which in the manufacture of corrugated elements ensures the accuracy of geometric dimensions (especially important with an increase in the number of sheets in the cross section with an increase in the span of the structure). It should be noted that the use of special steels contributes to the durability of assembled structures, taking into account the provision of not only corrosion resistance and strength characteristics, but also the possibility of high-quality galvanizing. Its quality is affected by the content of silicon. The choice of special steels instead of strong General construction steels is due to the fact that suppliers are guaranteed a chemical composition according to EN 10149-2, which limits the silicon content to 0.5% (periodic control tests show the actual content to 0.02%).
2. Manufacturing of holes, cutting of corrugated elements is performed before galvanization.
3. At the project’s request, galvanized corrugated plates can be coated with a chemically resistant epoxy coating with high-quality indoor application and polymerization in the factory;
4. Using a high-strength bolted connection (with a conical cross-section);
5. Minimization of risks in deviation from the project requirements and installation deadlines when assembling structures by providing the Consumer with a design kit with the marking of each element, an easy-to-read Assembly drawing, a special set of tools, a dynamometer key, and the presence of a company representative on the construction site for consultation of contractors.
Sets of structures are eventually produced of a controlled quality, while (before the galvanizing operation) a control Assembly of the entire structure is performed. Thus, the quality document issued by the manufacturer confirms to the Customer not only the quality characteristics of the shipped corrugated elements, bolted connections, and anti-corrosion protection, but also is a document of verification of the entire process: from calculation to installation on the construction site of the entire structure in Assembly.
*Scope of application Part 2 of STB EN 10149 (together with part 1): «… valid for flat products made of hot-rolled weldable alloyed and stainless steels with high yield strength intended for cold forming.
Grades of steel are supplied in accordance with the requirements of table 1 (chemical composition), as well as table 2 (mechanical properties) in a thermostatically rolled state according to 7.2.
Steel according to this European standard is used for hot-rolled flat products, namely:
with a nominal thickness of 1.5 to 20 mm for steels with minimum yield strength values in the range from 315 N / mm2 to 460 N/mm2;
with a nominal thickness of 1.5 to 16 mm for steels with minimum yield strength values in the range from 500 N / mm2 to 700 N / mm2».
