In 2019, ViaCon tested and launched the MP200 AL design.

MP200 AL is a flexible aluminum structure with corrugated sheets used in construction as metal structures. This is an alternative version of the MP200 corrugated steel structure, suitable for use in seawater. A suitable aluminum alloy was selected based on its corrosion resistance in the marine environment and cold-forming behavior. MP200 AL has a very high corrosion resistance in a salt environment due to its 3% magnesium content. It should be used under pH less than 9.0.

Design parameters:

Material AW-Aluminum alloy in ACC. Eurocode 9 part 11 / PN-EN-485-2.
Ability to produce round and arched shapes (up to 5 m in diameter)
Plate thickness from 4 to 6 mm
Used bolts and nuts – M20m with a tensile strength of 8.8

Advantage:

Applications of these structures in seawater
No corrosion under abrasive conditions
Light weight of the structure is 3 times lighter than steel
reduced transportation costs, easier installation
